The Black Beauty

Black. Colour of mystery and mortality. For many though, black continues to be the anchor of style. The colour black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, and as a result it creates an air of mystery. It keeps things bottled up inside, hidden from the world. Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy – but mysterious.

But above all black says this: I don’t bother you — don’t bother me.

Black is authoritative and powerful; because black can evoke strong emotions, too much can be overwhelming.

Black is associated with power, fear, mystery, strength, authority, elegance, formality, death, evil, aggression, authority, rebellion, and sophistication. Black is required for all other colours to have depth and variation of hue.

Besides its ability to slim and instantly make anything look chicer, black throughout history has represented a number of opposing ideas: power and elegance—but also humility and submission, especially when worn by priests and others who don a uniform. While it’s long been a signifier for mourning in Western culture, the Japanese see it as a colour that represents seniority and experience.

There is a common quotes which says

Women who wear black live colourful lives.

I love black because it affirms, designs and styles. A woman in a black dress is a pencil stroke. This essential that can pretty much take you anywhere is one of my closet favourites ! So, I was thinking , why not kick-start the birthday week with a Little Black Dress or LBD? Yes, it’s my birthday week and I have a surprise blog post for you guys on my birthday. Stay tuned.

I now it’s a bit cliché, but it’s cliché that seems to transcend time. They say every woman needs the perfect “Little Black Dress” and I agree, but my search for that perfection seems to end here.

The Little Black Dress (LBD) is one of the most timeless, stylish, and versatile garments out there. This dress is so perfect for me; the high neck, the length, the colour (obviously) and the subtle detail – the pearl embellishments because style is all about the details, darlings!

I have always had a thing for pearls. It is a little wonder that these ubiquitous yet unique natural objects are so revered and coveted. This Pearl stud embellishment could’nt be simpler to make. They add a stylish, classic look to any outfit, whether it’s for daytime or evening.

I loved this look because it is very simple yet elegant and classy at the same time.

My gorgeous LBD has a slimming tapered waist and an A-line ballerina skirt. Skater skirts are universally flattering on every body type. They are easy to wear, can be made casual or more  dressy and most importantly, super comfortable. The design is chic and always trendy!

The beauty of this cotton dress is that it’s cut simple in an A-line structure and its quiet short. I love the soft feel that it gives to my body and the ability to actually breathe in it, considering it’s black and this Bangalore heat !

Depending on the occasion, the LBD can hr dressed up or dressed down. My dress already had a classy look to it and hence I dressed it up. I accessorised it with a simple silver neck piece and a pair or silver stilettos. This made the look more classy and the red bright lipstick was just an add-on to this look.

I hope you like this post and you can buy this pretty LBD from here – https://goo.gl/xx2ZnY

XOXO, Until next time ❤
